Click&Boat: rent a boat for less
20 April 2017

What is Click&Boat?
A peer-to-peer boat rental platform. It’s part of the new way of consuming known as the collaborative economy. Created in 2013 by two entrepreneurs, Edouard Gorioux and Jérémy Bismuth, the startup now has around thirty employees. The Click&Boat community keeps growing and expanding every day!
How did the platform concept come about?
Jérémy and Edouard started from a simple observation: buying and maintaining a boat is a real cost for boat owners (berth, insurance, maintenance and repairs, etc.), for an average use of about ten days a year. Meanwhile, for individuals, renting a boat through a professional can sometimes be expensive... That’s how the Click&Boat concept was born: connecting owners and potential renters. This allows owners to make their boat profitable, or for those who want to enjoy a trip at sea at a good price, to save money.
How does it work?
Boat owners post an advert for free on the site. Then they manage booking requests sent to them by potential renters. Owners can chat with renters via the messaging system and check their nautical CVs. It’s up to them to accept or decline a request. For renters, all you need to do is create an account on the platform, then select the boat that suits you, in the destination of your choice.
On Click&Boat, you’ll find a wide selection of boats, from RIBs to sailboats, as well as motorboats and catamarans. In France or abroad, including Spain, Greece or Croatia.
Next, you contact the owner of the boat you like, with a view to making a booking. After the rental, owners and renters can rate each other and leave a comment. This is a sign of trust for future trips at sea.
What are the company’s values?
Sharing, friendliness and trust.
What are Click&Boat’s plans for 2017?
After its success in France, where the community is growing every day, with now more than 100,000 registered members and over 9,000 boats available for rent, Click&Boat wants to continue its international expansion. After Italy, Spain and Croatia, the startup opened an office in Miami last March. The aim: to conquer Florida, where more than thirty boats are already listed on the platform!
