Help us protect you from scams
To help you avoid them, here are some practical tips to recognise suspicious behaviour and know how to react.

What you should do to avoid scams:

Keep all your conversations on our messaging system
Sometimes, fake co-transporters will give you contact details (email, phone) to move the conversation outside our platform. Keep all your exchanges on Cocolis to protect yourself and report any suspicious behaviour.

Beware of payment methods outside Cocolis
Trusted users know they should never ask you to pay outside the platform. Never make any hand-to-hand payments, PCS, Transcash, Neosurf, or SEPA transfers.

Book your transport only on our website or app
If you are selling on a second-hand platform like Facebook Marketplace, Leboncoin, etc... Beware of fake buyers who promise cash payment by handing over an envelope. This is a scam to extort fake insurance fees from you.
How malicious people may try to scam you
✓ By creating a fake website
Fraudsters create websites that look like Cocolis. These fake sites may ask you for money or your bank details. Before paying, check that the website address starts with https://www.cocolis.fr.
✓ By creating fake user profiles
Fake profiles are often recently created and have no reviews. If a fraudster asks you for a transcash payment or tries to contact you outside Cocolis, by phone, Facebook or WhatsApp, do not respond.
✓ By sending fake Cocolis emails
Fraudsters collect your details outside our platform (Facebook Marketplace, Leboncoin, etc.) to send you a fake Cocolis-branded email asking you to pay fees (insurance, customs). Do not pay and check the email address. All Cocolis emails end with @cocolis.fr.

What to do if you think someone is trying to scam you
If a user sends you a link to pay outside the site:
Do not follow the link, do not pay and report the exchange to us using the "Report conversation" button in the messaging system or at [email protected].
If a user insists on being paid differently:
Your payments via Cocolis are protected as long as you have not confirmed delivery. We advise you not to accept. You can reply: "I prefer to use the platform for security reasons and to benefit from Cocolis insurance."
If a user asks for extra fees:
On Cocolis, you should never be asked for insurance or customs fees, especially by bank transfer, PCS, Transcash, Neosurf or other. If you have any doubts, write to us at [email protected].
